Laboratory-backed answers
Mold Testing in Anaheim, CA
Mold testing uses samples collected on-site and analyzed by an independent laboratory to answer specific questions: Is this stain mold? Are indoor spore levels elevated compared with outdoors? Is something growing inside a wall we cannot see?
Testing is most useful when it is targeted. We recommend sampling where it will actually inform a decision, rather than collecting samples for their own sake.
Sampling methods we use
- Air sampling with an outdoor baseline for comparison
- Tape-lift samples from visible growth or suspect staining
- Swab samples from textured or irregular surfaces
- Wall cavity air sampling through a small access point
- HVAC sampling at registers or components
- Clearance sampling after a remediation contractor finishes

Independent lab analysis
Samples are sent under chain of custody to a third-party laboratory for analysis.
Report & lab details
Understanding lab results
Air sample results list the mold types identified and their concentrations. Indoor results are interpreted against the outdoor baseline — indoor levels well above outdoor levels, or types present indoors but not outside, can point to an indoor source.
Surface sample results identify whether mold is present on the material and what types were observed. Your report pairs the lab data with inspection findings so the numbers make sense in context.
FAQ
Mold Testing questions
Is there a safe level of mold?
There is no single regulatory number for indoor mold in California. Results are interpreted by comparing indoor samples to outdoor conditions and considering what types are present.
Do home test kits work?
Settle-plate kits show that mold spores exist, which is true almost everywhere. They do not provide a controlled air volume or outdoor comparison, so results are hard to interpret.
Who analyzes the samples?
Samples go to an independent third-party laboratory. We do not analyze our own samples.
